Therefore, accept each other just as Christ has accepted you so that God will be given glory. (NLT) ( Romans 15:7 )
Do you ever get irritated by the noisy kids at the nearby table? Or how about the slow, elderly driver in front of you? When you view them through the same loving perspective that God has for you, everything turns upside down. He loves them with a reckless abandonment, just as He feels for you. Perhaps those noisy kids are celebrating a momentous birthday or the elderly driver dreading their next visit to the oncologist. Extend some grace, love, and acceptance.
For where two or three gather together as my followers, I am there among them. (NLT) ( Matthew 18:20 )
The meaning of going to church, or gathering as Christ followers, is very important. The foundation is to grow your relationship with God and getting closer to Him. It is a pathway to experiencing and connecting with God. When we connect with God regularly, it strengthens our other relationships with friends and family. Going to church won’t make you a better person, instead, it connects you with God. When you connect with God, your heart turns towards Him and desires to be more godly.
Give your burdens to the LORD, and he will take care of you. He will not permit the godly to slip and fall. (NLT) ( Psalm 55:22 )
When you are overwhelmed and troubled by fear and anxiety, turn to the Lord. It is difficult to do in the face of hardships. But God will honor your faithfulness. Identify an area in which you worry and tell God you will turn it over to Him. When you find yourself circling your thoughts around in worry, stop those thoughts, because they will plant seeds of doubt. Your God will take care of you. Worrying only discredits your faith that God will protect you.
Every word of God proves true. He is a shield to all who come to him for protection. (NLT) ( Proverbs 30:5 )
Are you in need of protection lately? The Word of God is a powerful tool that cuts right to the heart of what you need to hear at just the right time. It has proven itself over time, again and again, to be reliable. Use it as your shield and read it for comfort. Unsure where to start? Try the book of Psalms, it’s full of richness.
